Here at ClarinetPerfection.com we take our clarinet seriously.  After we are completed with refurbishing an instrument not only does it pass all the routine tests for setup but we play the instrument to give it some final tweaks that normal setups cannot do.  This, unfortunately, requires quite a good amount of time playing it.  Luckily we love playing clarinets so we get alot of good practice.  During our play testing our tweaking will make sure response, intonation and tone is even throughout all registers. This process also tests keywork for smoothness during various transitions, at the very end you can be rest assured that the clarinet will play it's best.  All clarinets are guaranteed, ask more about it. Please contact Steve at ClarinetPerfection@gmail.com for more information.

We do take Trades. See This Link for more information. Any "Coming Soon" instrument is in our possession and will be prepared at some point when out schedule allows us.  If you are interested in one of these "Coming Soon" instruments please contact us SteveSklar@gmail.com for more information.

If there are currently none available please ask for availability as primary production is reserved for customer clarinets.  We work on in-house inventory when time is allotted

Conn 424 - Coming Soon.  Great clarinet for Jazz or Doublers.

Buffet E-11 "A" - New in 2007 this perfect example of a Buffet E-11 "A" clarinet is in totally like-new condition.  Some pads even have no indentation on them from little use.  Save from a brand new E-11 "A" or thousands less than an R-13 "A" clarinet.  These E-11s are made by Shreiber in Germany which was bought by Buffet last year.  I will be replacing the trill key pads, which currently have double bladder with cork pads for a slightly improved setup.

This is one fantastic playing clarinet.  So easy to play top to bottom and an awesome flexible tone.  Keywork is perfect and beautiful with it's silverplate.  The throat notes are fantastically clear due to it using a "galper" type design (which is similar to the Leblancs) where the register tube extends a bit more out of the body.  You have to hear the sound and intonation to believe it.  Tested with several Vandoren mouthpieces (B45, M13, M13lyre, V2).  Retails New for over $2,300.

Leblanc L7 "A" - Even though the L7s are very difficult to find the "A" versions are even more so.  This L7, as it currently is, is very clean and keywork is nicely polished and in fantastic condition.. Keywork plating is 100%.  Fantastic Leblanc keywork, no problems in the feel or mechanics.  The Wood grain is very tight, bore is very nice and after my tuning adjustments the tone is wonderful.

As most "A" clarinets they don't get much use and this one is no exception.  I have replaced the upper joint tenon corks and the trill keys have new cork pads.  At some point I may do a complete refurbishment on it with new bladder pads, at that point the price will be around $  but it is a fantastic clarinet as is.

The case is a double case with a black velvet interior and black tweed exterior, both in perfect condition.  All the joints are stored separately with an ample storage area enough to carry any additional supplies, mouthpieces, swabs, etc that you want.  Also the interior lid opens and one can put some (not much) sheet music up there. Enough for a solo concerto or two.

This is a very flexible clarinet.  With a full woody tone and flexible dynamics are easily achieved - my test mouthpiece was a Vandoren M13 lyre.  This is a great chamber, soloist or orchestral clarinet.  Don't miss out.

Leblanc L7 - The L7s are very difficult to find and are an awesome concert or jazz clarinet.  The bore design allows for very easy dynamics - playing characteristics similar to the Leblanc Dynamics but with more consistent resistance and more like the more modern Concerto/Concerto IIs with a bit more power and projection.

The refurbishment of this L7 has created an awesome L7.  It has a tonal ring of the coveted Buffet R13s but with easier wider dynamics, freer blowing and the excellent Leblanc keywork layout.  The nickel plating is about 96% with some wear on the lower rings and the right hand Eb spatula key; this vintage was also known for some nickel abberrations and this nickel looks cloudy in some high wear areas but we have attained as much smoothness, polish and luster as possible.  This refurbishment is completed with Brand new white leather pads and hand cut and shaped cork pads in the trill and C#/G# keys.

This one has been brought back to it's original glory with a full refurbishment.  It is an absolutely awesome clarinet and won't disappoint.

1951 Buffet - these are considered the "pre- R13" models before the introduction of the legendary R13.  But these are no slouch either. They have a tapered bore and provide similar resistance and playing feel as an R13.  If you fit them with a Moennig or Chadash barrel you then get many of the attributes of the R13 with a silky smooth tone.  If you are not going to buy an R13, then we recommend these models over the E-11s, you won't be disappointed compared to an R13 tonally.

This will be getting a Symphony refurbishment which include bladder and cork pads.  $900 for this Buffet when complete..

 MOUTHPIECES & ACCESSORIES

All Mouthpieces are not sold "as-is" unless they are fantastic playing pieces.  Each table is checked for several conditions including a flat table (left to right, and front to back). Then the curve of the rails are checked to make sure they meet the design specifications and if not, they are corrected.  Any of our work follows the goals of making as minute of changes possible to bring the mouthpiece to the optimal playing characteristics.

Vandoren Masters black ligature and metal cap      $40 + $10 shipping

An excellent all-around ligature from Vandoren.

This one is only slightly used (by me) to see how it fits onto the mouthpiece and holds the reed.

I rate the Masters ligatures are one of the best all-around ligature.  Easy to use a two top screw design.  Fits Vandoren mouthpieces perfectly and cradles the reed perfectly.

I prefer the dual ribbed support for the reed as this is the plate I use on a Vandoren Optimum ligature.  Some care must be used with this ligature as the metal is on the thin side.  These Retail new for $96, get a brand new on for much less.

Most full refunds are within 1 week unless more time is allowed (private teachers, etc).  General warranties are for 1 year to cover any major issues excluding bent keys, dropped instruments or other items initiated by customer.

The warranty is transferable to any owner as long as I am informed of the transfer - if it is being transferred you have the option of sending it through ClarinetPerfection - we only charge shipping.  We will inspect the clarinet and make minor repairs for free.

I will also give a low price for any repair of any instrument I have sold no matter how long ago whether transferred or not.  Transfers though must be communicated as soon as they occur.

Information Trivia:

Nickel Silver (or German Silver or German Nickel Silver, New Silver, Paktong, Alpacca, Alpaca ) is a metal alloy which contains copper, nickel and sometimes zinc.  Yup, no silver.  None at all.  Some formulas may contain antimony, tin, lead or cadnium. A normal Alloy # 752 is 65% copper, 18% nickel and 17% zinc.   If it contains a higher portion of zinc it may be termed stainless.   Nickel 55-18 is 55% copper, 18% zinc & 27% other.
